I wouldn't change anything. They're Danish
returns except they didn't get far. That makes them cast off from your own army and they are as used. You folk did your own work on them and changed parts as required, the VAR barrels are known to be accurate. It'll cost far more to juggle parts and in the end you still have a mixmaster. It's as it left service now...both of them. You can never return them to "Original"...

If they "worked" in that way, then they are original to me.
At least, I see it that way with guns that are bought directly from the army.
Same thing happens here in Italy
with the Terni arsenal.
You get what you get and in the configuration they were used, so: original.
Nice gats, by the way.

Interesting point that you folk shared rifles and parts to some extent, "Hands across" so to speak.

Yes. I dont know the exact number of
US build vs. Italian
builds Garands we had in Danish
Service.
But I do know that the IHC is not one of them
So where this came from??
All US Garands where of wwII vintage. First half
Was left overs surplus rifles delivered in 1950
Second half vas overhauld rifles in 1952 after that
Italian rifles. Thats is the official “Danish Story “ but I dont know
For sure.
I agree with you Ovidio about the military work.
That i why I will put back the groved lover band
Next time I have the rifle taken apart.
It is the only part I have changed on the 1942 SA.
