Too many are being made far after the fact now and most people, directors included, weren't around even at the end let alone during the war to see anything. Now it's just exploiting the story.

With all the information available, there is just a bit of research would have yielded what period correct equipment should have been drawn from the prop room. BUT a Pellet Gun? LOL

Yep! Special Forces Tab wasn't authorized until 1983. At least that stupid ball cap looked authentic. I used to wear one of those.

After six years with the NAVY SEABEES, I joined the 820th Army Corps of Engineers for two years of reserves. It was an interesting duty time learning the stark differences between the Seabees and Army Corps of Engineers

Did they have MRE's in Vietnam? I thought only C-K rations.

Nope NO MREs or even the experimental Food In a Tube we got in the late 70's

They did have freeze-dried Long-Range Patrol Rations that were packaged the same as the later MREs.
