No4 Rear Sight Value

I have an opportunity to buy a No4 micrometer rear sight. Problem is I’m not sure if the price is fair since the last time I bought one was 5 years ago for around $75. I tried looking a round to get an idea but all the advertised No4 micrometer sights I can find turn out really be No5 sights. The one I’m looking at is for a proper No4. Anyone know what these are going for now?

Sorry… $100. It seems a little high, but I also figure between inflation, how hard it is to find them, and it being 5 years on from when I paid $75 maybe it’s not so bad?

I see them offered for about that CDN here but I don't think they sell. I have one or two here that I would hand a guy if I could. Don't think I can ship them across the border though. Honestly, around here I don't see them being worth more than $30CDN at best. They just ask more.

I suspect different countries/markets will have differing values, the last Mk1 Micrometer sight I saw sell on a well known internet auction site in the UK icon

went for £46 ($59) .

Might be worth looking further afield for one?

Give Richard a ring at Devizes, he found a load of them recently when moving workshops, I am sure he'll have what you want

It is also going to depend on the manufacturer - a Long Branch or Savage made Mk. I sight will be less common, and would be correct for early production rifles.

If you are prepared to wait and look you may well find one cheaper.

If the seller knows that you are keen and really want it then there is no chance of the price coming down.

Are you buying the Mark I sight to correctly complete a '41-'42 year rifle or simply want it for s shooter?
