Understanding this is a posed pic to show relaxed troops but I feel old mate in the center with no head gear looks pretty strung out from his experiences so far.
Hope they all made it back home.

Agreed, but Hopefully his demeanor is only because he’s impatient for his turn at the Life magazine.
