When Preston Lindburgh McKnight was born on July 28, 1927, in Newell, West Virginia, his father, Carl, was 23 and his mother, Margaret, was 21. He had one brother and one sister. He died on February 9, 1951, in South Korea at the age of 23, and was buried in New Manchester, West Virginia.
