these are becoming somewhat scarce these days , and i think has turned the corner in the eyes of collectors because the numbers have dwindled , these came about during the Bush era AWB in a attempt to create a market for a "neutered" AKS without drawing attention to the fact it was a neutered AKS and they were not received well so were short lived , but have a unique niche in the history of ak's in the country
both Norinco and Poly Tech both released their own version , Poly were produce soley in factory 386 and all had milled receivers , while Norincos were offered in both stamped and milled receivers ,one of the more desirable attributes were ones with the standard AK mag release
a lions share of these were hacked up and converted to Galil clones and the mods were irreversible accounting for the dwindling numbers
mine has the most atrocious trigger of not only any firearm i have ever owned , but of any firearm ive ever shot , it has slack/take up for well over a inch , its so long you cant help but to bust out laughing while trying to hold your shot , no exaggeration at all , literally that bad , gritty and inconsistent also comes to mind ,but it is still installed to keep it original, crude sights and is actually pretty accurate , but a uncomfortable rifle for me at least , it is the Poly Tech version so sports the Poly Legend finish of the National Match Poly Tech rifles , as well as the purplish hint to the receiver
so the old girl gets to see daylight once a year just to give me an excuse to tear down , clean and fresh coating of lube
