Looks like a rivet above the chinstrap loop on the near man's helmet, should be welded but looks like a swivel. Strange piece. Looks like a "D" bale but they were welded and short lived. Also paratroop. This helmet looks like one of the copies of US M1
helmets, can't put my finger on which one though. No real info about this pic either.

I looked long and hard for a pair of war dated barbed wire handling gloves for my RCE impression. I soon realized I could have used a pair of the one's I was issued as they hadn't changed in 50 years. Same as the one's in this picture.
