    No4 MkI* Savage 1943 - Site guard marked S?

Good evening, all. I am wrapping up a resto on a sad Savage sporter i rescued. Last item is the front sight guard. I am having trouble finding a marked "S" front sight guard. Were the front sight guards marked with the Savage "S"? Not able to find any documentation either way, I thought I would ask here. Thanks!

Hey Baconslayer: Just checked, the Savage No. 4's have a small squared "S" on the forward-facing part of the Protector, Foresight Mk 2, aka CR469 (as per Skennertonicon's SAIS No.2, p.32).
    Regards,

Savage made a fabricated, stamped, front sight protector.
