I have these 3 old photos and which people may be interested to see which are thought to be about 100 years old. They were sent back to the UK by a Britishman after he went to work in the Gold Cost, what is believed to be present day Ghana.
The first pic is captioned on the back as being an "electric power house" with a rubber plantation on the left.
The 2nd pic is captioned as being the chap's home and note is made of it being "comfortable and cool inside". (Presumably the term "cool" is used in this instance to mean not hot rather than fashionable.) The next building is referred to as "the club".
The last pic is captioned as, that when walking down this path there is a need to be "agile on one's feet" in order to avoid the falling fruit. Obviously it would give one a rather sore head if hit by a coconut that has fallen from a great height.
