    AHHQ 1/16th Tiger 1 progress

Getting there pretty much 90% done, rest of tools on & tow & track cables, gloss coat for decal placement, then washes/pigments finish off with a all over matt coat.

Learnt a fair bit biggest one was pigments & fixers on the tracks don't roll them up to dry but keep flexing them was a heck of a time freeing them up !

Looks great Cinders. All you need is a crease where a 6 Pdr. projectile was deflected.

It was a challenge Jim with his majesty overseeing most of the build but did not like the sound of the airbrush !

Yeah this one wont have that this is Wittmanns S04 as it does not have the turret mantlet MG I was going to do a winter camo scheme but decided as I have done his Kursk S04 in 1/35th in snow camo I'm leaving this one as a 3 tone.
There is still heaps to do like weathering and fitment of the tow cables etc not sure if I'll build the 1/16th figure that came with it.

Nice work! It is funny how you can tell something of how large a model is without a lot of context. This one looks pretty massive.

Attention to detail 1/16th Tiger 1

This is what can elevate a model so it is pleasing to the eye but it is also a double edged sword.
I could have gone for factory finish but they become boring and the models look sterile so one has to take the time and effort to doctor them up to appear used.
Some are true masters at the game and their efforts make the model come alive as for me I try my best to emulate them trying different stuff.

Like the Pic#1 tracks here coating the grouser sections with polishing powder 1 piece at a time to simulate contact with a hard surface, already used European earth pigment on them.
So yeah its slow but I am hoping once I have all the filters/washes/pigments & matt finished it will look a treat plus going slowly lessens errors as it is a $380/Aud model not counting my time to build it.
I also put up my Pic#2 1/35th Easy Eight M4 as I left that one as per factory finish along with my Pic #3 1/35th Panther to show the difference.
The Panther crew one is from my 1990 Tiger 1 the other I modded so he is sitting from the Panther kit

You've done a wonderful job on that tank Cinders! The skill of some of you modelers in recreating every scratch in the paint and clod of earth stuck to a tread is amazing. So, who do you think gets credit for Wittman's death? Personally I'm convinced the tankers of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers deserve credit but the controversy of who actually got Wittman is still hotly contested at Canadianicon Legions and pubs around the country.

They did a doco on it and I'm pretty sure a Canadianicon firefly got Wittmann from a hole in the perimeter wall at the viller where they had bivouacked.
