WANTED: Model 1918 sniper scope for P14 sniper restoration
I am seeking a British
"Model 1918" sniper scope, often mistakenly called Pattern 1918". They are clearly marked "1918 / MODEL" on the ocular housing. Ideally I would like one with the rings for the P14 and scope case. For reasons of authenticity, I prefer a scope made by P.P. Co. but would consider one marked for BSA (tree rifles piled) or an Australian
AOC made example.
I am restoring an original Pattern 1914 Mk. I* W (T) sniper rifle from 1918. It has the relocated seriel number on the right side of the rear sight housing, necessary due to the front scope mounting's placement which covered the factory s/n. There are Australian issue markings D/|\ and D/|\D and a three digit Australian prefix number added to the rifle s/n.
The rifle had been sporterized, but other than damage to the Fine rear sight and the removal of the scope mounts, the metal was not damaged or altered. I replaced the Fine sight with an original undamaged one and replaced the wood with original P14 Winchester full wood. Through R.P. in the UK, I was able to obtain an original front mount and a replica rear mount. Naturally I would like to obtain an original rear scope mount for it.
I am open to purchasing or trading, worldwide.
I am located in Richmond, BC, Canada
