Early Inland - Opinions Please!
This was in the same collection for 20-30 years (it's now mine). I took the photos before I cleaned anything, so you could see how I found it - dry and dirty. Look OK?

It is a very nice carbine and original, as manufactured. Is it something that you are interested in selling?

No Really, you should see his work! Walmart Tasco scope, Metal polished and cold blued with a Monte Carlo stock with unique checkering. (I say unique cuase he's using a fish gutting knife and still learning)

Thank you! I'm not selling, this is a keeper. I wasn't able to take the gun apart before I bought it, but I didn't see one thing about it I didn't like. It cleaned up really well.

Can you fill out a data sheet and post it or email it to me? I do research on Inlands. For instance, your carbine has a barrel band retaining spring with a flat tip. Typically, Inland used a spring with a rounded tip. I have seen several flat tipped bands in this serial number range indicating that Inland used this type.

First of all, I'm not convinced that there isn't a point. It's hard to tell in the photo. Second, there are reports of the flat tipped guides on Inland carbines in the first serial number block.
Is it proven that the pointed tipped guide preceded the flat tipped guide? Or could the pointed versus the flat tipped guide be just a matter of being from different subcontractors? According to War Baby!, Inland had two different subcontractors of operating slide spring guides. Could one subcontractor have made the flat tipped guide and the other made the pointed?
