Seeking unobtanium, aperture parts
Hi all, I've got a couple of peep sights in need of parts and wondering if any member might have them lurking in a parts bin for sale...I need the removable elevation scale face plate ?, for a Central no4 type, and also a PH5a. Both have lost theirs, smle or 762 is ok. I also need a top arm for a PH5c, I need to replace both the winders on mine, worn out and broken they are. I also need base plates for BSA 9 types, and also a Mues base/mount.
Just as a by the way I'm having a bit of fun with aperture sights, if anyone has boxes of bits/worn/rusty/tired enfield aperture sights etc they'd like to part with, I'm looking.
Here's a Q I haven't solved, would an elevation scale face plate for a PH5a exist in 7.62 anywhere? It would be an interesting tryout on an ishapore 2a, ne ce pas?
Thanks Roger
top one is the BSA Fultons, now getting wood repair where a Central sight had been forced onto it. Sight is model TZ AGP, twin zero with parker hale aperture sight and lens/filter holder.
Lower is the 07 no1 sporterized club rifle, rescued, repro wood, a few more months to go on this one yet. Checkering is a bugga and I sold the tools so I won't be tempted to ever do this again. Sight is a Parker Plus 5, sort of the wrong age for the rifle, 1930's versus 07, but the look is good and requires no wood removal. They both fold down without damaging any wood, oorah.
