UPDATE: Although this book was original published over 50 years ago in 1954, we have been advised that it may once again be commercially available again in print format from the author's daughter, Linda Sweet. She indicates her father died in 1992 and therefore under our Canadian laws, copyright passes to his estate and is valid for 50 years following his death. Therefore, we have temporarily suspended the download of this library article, while we check its copyright and public domain status to ensure there's no infringement. We apologize to the membership for any inconvenience during this process.

    Collector Comments and Feedback:

    1. On some systems with Microsoft's Internet Explorer, after you click on images in the MKB to ENLARGE them, you may find they automatically size smaller in your browser's window making them hard to read. The auto sizing is your browser's way of keeping images entirely within the screen size you have set.

If this happens, move your mouse pointer to the bottom right corner of the pic and hold it there. You will see a small box open up with four arrows point outwards and it will say "Expand to Regular Size". Click this box and the pic will open up to it's normal size and you should now be able to read any text and make out small details in the pic. .....

Unfortunately the link to download is broken. It currently leads only to the image of the book cover.

Is there any chance that Linda Sweet has made a decision about re-publishing, re-printing or otherwise making this work available to us once again? Badger?

The book appears to have been reprinted by Linda Sweet and one of the outlets (from which I bought my copy) is the New South Wales Rifle Association shop here in Australia. They’ve just got more stock in from Linda. The book costs AUD13 (approx. US$9) - not exactly a king's ransom; I would not expect the postage to your side of the pond to be too horrendous.

The edition that is available is the 7th (1982) which relates to the contemporary generation of 7.62 calibre target rifles (Barnard actions, etc). I believe that the last time the book was based on the Lee Enfield was the 5th edition (1961). The edition here is the 4th (1956).
