Looking at the pic again you are also missing the pin and spring in the front which locks the AA pole or Enfield into place. Think that you are going to be making the pin. Good Luck.

By the whole top piece I'm thinking that you are talking about the item added to the top of the screw. I'm thinking that the screw and down is an original T&E with the added piece of course.

Agree on the type 1 mount, believe that the front leg is either late model or changed out. As far as the T&E go I'll bet (not much) that the top piece will come off so the Bren can mount correctly....
