Could be mistaken but those appear to be leather handled M4 bayonets. I did not expect post-Korea issue bayonets to still be leather handled. But I guess they must have used them.

Enlarging the picture I see one on each of the first three guys. Since we were talking about the carbine I wronly thight me meant an M3 carbine not an M3 trench knife.
Three pictured, that leaves...
No error gentleman. I was referring to the M3 knife. That is the knife that the later Carbine M4 bayonet is based on and a particular favourite of mine.
Great picture. Apart from the carbines, it is not often you see three M3s in one photograph.
I'm in N.Z. Charlie. I found this address for Mike in my address book but it has been many years since I have had any contact with him. It may well be the one you have already but worth a...
I’m still annoyed at the flagrant positive spin that the firearm press put on the new Inlands when first released. I don’t remember them giving a single bad review back then. I guess only positive...
Please look very carefully and check out past threads on the "new" Inlands on this forum. I'd avoid them unless they get their act together and improve.
Nice looking stock. I must ask. What do you think was the original reason those holes were drilled in the stock in the first place for?
I like your carbine but must disagree about the Carbine Williams film. I have viewed it more than once but only in homage. Not a great film in my opinion. But welcome to the world of M1 Carbines. I'm...
That they aimed and fired is not in dispute. Could it be? Just could it be that they missed? Rounds fired to hit ratio in war is very high. No doubt they thought they hit or should have hit and they...
I’m sorry but I still find such stories hard to believe. The fact that it is often gets repeated does not make it any more believable. I’m sure I have seen video of people trying to reproduce this...
What a great job you have done. There is a diorama of a mounted Boer War New Zealand soldier in our national army museum at Waiouru . As a Martini fan I noticed that he was armed with an artillery...
I'm with ANZAC15 . My Citadel is my favourite centre fire Martini and takes anything I feed it no problems. Shoots far better than I can hold. The bore on mine is also very good. The Citadels have...
The Citadel .303 Martini had no provision for a handguard. If yours has a handguard or slots in the stock where one could be fitted then chances are it is not a Citadel.
I'm selling a 1907 on Trade Me at the moment. No original finish. Some pitting. good scabbard. It is at the reserve of NZ$80 already and I expect 100 to 120. Lots of them around and condition is...
Ah now I understand. Thanks for the explanation. I had a friend who you could consider an expert in his collecting field. When a certain person saw him bidding on an item he would often bid straight...
Interesting post and I am sorry that I have nothing to add about the bayonet. However I have to ask how comes the guy bidding against you is an idiot? He was prepared to pay less than you were for an...
Could be wrong but in the film "The Eagle has Landed" all the American troops had carbines with those handguards. Good for a laugh.
Brilliant display. Well done.
I could be wrong but in The Eagle Has Landed, I recollect they also had some carbines with metal venterlated handguards. As has been said. Good book. Poor film.
Many years ago we had a stack of Canadian 1943 .303 tracer . No American type deserts here and setting light to the the bush is obviously frowned on and stupid. We were down on a remote beach and...
Hey guys, don’t go too hard on the Citadel Martinis. I got one at auction about ten years back. The catalogue described it as being Turkish. Did some research and found out that they are made from...
Thanks Jamie. I can see the logic of that. I am converting my rifle back to the military format so I have traded the sight to a freind who intends to use it in target shooting contests on his P14.
Hi Andy. I am also new to this forum and by way of coincidence I too have recently acquired a P14. Unlike yours mine is made by Remington but like yours it came fitted with a Parker Hale 5B target...
There is a local chap here in New Zealand who has what you need. I've bought P14 parts off him recently. Nice bloke to deal with.
