Great comments all sorry I was away. The cartridges were made from 44 special brass. I took the cylinder out and put the cartridges in rim first and to check the fit depth and everything is fine...
Good evening all. I picked up a Bodeo revolver at a gun show that appeared to my inspection to be fully functional. I bought some 10.4 Italian Ordnance and went out to the range only to find the...
I picked a red 9 up a couple months ago. Had a broken firing pin and bent extractor but good finish and bore. Got the parts in the other day and took my 14 YOA son out to range to give it a test...
Nice piece of family history. I picked my first P35 up in Tulsa last weekend and am looking forward to shooting it. Yours appears to be a late war without the take down lever.
I'm in law enforcement. Don't do anything to the scene after the incident. I.e.: move them, shoot into the floor or ceiling, etc. if we figure it out your going to really complicate an otherwise...
I added a Type 14 to my collection a few years ago. Never could get it to run reliably. Bought the wolf spring kit and installed it with no improvement. Even swapped a magazine and other parts...
I've shot a lot of steel and have seen rounds come straight back 25 yards frequently. Not much energy but it sure makes you jump. Eye protection as always is a must.
What an amazing save on a great piece of family history. Thanks for sharing!
Great pics and thanks for the post! Your timing is perfect - the family and I are planning a trip to CA this June and she's on are "to do" list.
Here's a color shot of my dad (far right). It was taken in the Ardenne and was captioned as being men from the 1st Army. He was 3rd Army, medic, but said he was detached a lot of the time. I think...
Peter, would that be a correction for the wandering zero issue?
Those are good times Jason. Enjoy! Here's a quick shot of my youngest at 10 with a National Postal Meter M1 carbine.

I can't image what it was like to hump one of those things around. The little experience I have with this one only increases the respect I have for those of you that served. Same thing with the...
I found a copy of the field manual (FM23-55) and it had the procedure for replacing the recoil spring and rod manually, so I decided to take a chance and take the back plate off without capturing the...
Good Afternoon All,
My brother owns a TNW 1919 in 30-06. We only took it out to the range once and it would not feed properly. It was stuffed back in the safe for another day to troubleshoot,...
We had a welcome warm trend this weekend. Got up to 70 with no wind. The kids and I went out and took a trip around the world - WWII style. Mosin M44 & 91/30; K98; Steyr M95; Swiss K31; MAS 36;...
Very cool - I think June of 1944 production? Looks like the crown is pretty worn? In all a real cool WWII vintage score!
Never having been in combat my thoughts may be off base. It seems to me that not having to carry two types of cartridges would be a plus. It also seems to me that unloading the rifle and loading a...
That makes sense. Thanks Chris
I'm in your camp Villiers. I shoot everything I own as well. For me, an old gun with a little rust and pitting is something I enjoy bringing back to life. If I owned a pristine, number matched,...
I'm certainly a novice - acquiring my first P08 only a few months ago. I realize it's mismatched, but just the side plate, at least as far as I see. The finish, well, to me I just see character. ...
Okay, displaying my ignorance here. The Japanese design seems to make the most sense (not having to use a blank). I wonder why that wasn't the standard? My only experience is with a launcher I...
Ed, I'm with you 100%. The small town I live in started up a museum not long ago. I've thought about donating my WWII collection to them (or something similar) if my kids don't want them.
I agree - pics are poor and no description. I never should have clicked on the link.....they have a C96 listed.....damn......that's on my list
