Thanks for that.
I thought about the 7.62x39 but did one on a '93 Mauser instead, so I fitted a 35 cal barrel to one of my Carcano's and used the x54 case. The pic ( L to R ) is 35 Rem, 35 Carcano...

I'll probably get shot for putting this here but.....Does anyone have one of the Canadian made Cooey Carcano's converted to 6.5x54MS with the stubbed barrel ?
I'm looking for the diameter of the...

Thank you gentlemen, for your replies and the information.

Thanks, I have that information already but what I can't find is a standard thread, its not BA or BSF.....surely they wouldn't use some obscure thread pitch.....how do I get a screw to replace it??
...
Can anyone tell me the pitch or thread size of the screw that holds the rear sight spring on a Remington P14, the one under the rear ladder sight?
Roger
All good now Steve, it was a screw......I was very surprised it came out so easily!!
Roger
I want to remove the rear sight on a little 6.5 carbine but I'm not sure whether it has a screw or a pin, it appears to have a slotted screwdriver head.
Any ideas?
Roger
Yes, I did read about the main differences between 42 and 42b, but also the 42 was originally set up for 156gr RN and the 42b for 140gr spitzers.
Roger
Thanks for all of that, I'll check them out....sorry, its actually a 42b, so I now know it uses 140gr pills.
Roger
Does anyone have a handload that approximates the original military load for a Swedish ljungman?
Roger
Thanks for the information, I didn't know about the fascist year date.
Why does it have a British proof mark?
Roger
Can anyone give me some information on the markings on this 1940 m91/38 short rifle?

Yep, looks like an M38 short rifle. The stock has been cut off just in front of the sling swivel band and the bayonet mount removed.
No problems, it was free, it will get put to good use as a scrub...
I was given another 6.5 Carcano, a carbine, and I was hoping someone could give me some information on it.
It is marked....1941 XIX... on the left of the barrel
CAL 6.5...on top of the...
Thanks anyway Jim, theres a protrusion on the side of the follower that limits travel both up and down. This doesn't matter any more.
I'm actually cutting the mag in half to make a " trench " mag...
....too neat a fit for that, the follower has a "leg" fore and aft in the mag body so it can't be tilted, it runs up and down in guides in the box. It looks like a rivet is what stops it from falling...
As there is no Swedish section, this seems the appropriate place to ask.......can the follower in a ljungman ( I think thats how you spell it ) be removed without destroying anything ?? I have...
......if your scope is not a " tip-off ", how do you load the bullets ?
