Could be a weak or damaged clip ejector spring. This is part of the trigger housing assembly.

With an E4540 serial number it should be DWM manufacture. So I'm guessing 1910 maybe.
IIRC the German contract ran from 1909 to 1913. Argentine production was during the WW2 time...
