Here's some from #74
Notice how light the mark is on the 1940 example.

No, I've never fired this one and have no urge to, really. I have plenty of other rifles to shoot. The only M91/30's I shoot much anymore are my PU Snipers. I agree that the Finnish re-worked...
The subject came up in another thread so I thought I'd post some pictures of a 1941 Izhevsk M91/30 that was likely captured and re-worked by the Nazis and later sold to The Finnish Army. These...
Yes! The blued bolt rifles are usually Nazi re-works that were sold to Finland. There is at least one document sale from Nazi Germany to Finland in the Summer of 1944. The blued bolt Finnish...
Great looking rifle. I think the finish is Finnish, but it's a bit hard to tell in photos. Do you see signs of finish in the gouges and chips?
They don't come much better than that!! What a gem!
That's a neat one!
120 rounds!! Impressive. Anyone would have a dead shoulder after that many! Ha! I think I usually call it quits with my 1903A3 after half that and always have a nice bruise.
What year is it? I can't make it out in the photo?
Please provide a close up of the left side of the barrel directly in front of the receiver at the wood line. The would have originally been a...
Nice rifles gentlemen!! I finally obtained a 'correct' sling for my '41 Tula sniper a few days ago. It's tough to find the style for the so called "Naval" style AVT stocks. I like the way you can...
Some experts on Gunboards were able to provide the answer...
I 27 means
"Kungliga Gotlands Infanteriregemente" or 27th Infantry Regiment
870 is the rack number.
Anyone know what the numbers are the stock disk indicate?

VERY nice work!
Looks like a nice rifle, but the stock may be a post-war replacement that someone added. If it was added by a US arsenal it would likely have stamps to indicate that. Does it have any stamps on the...
Since ERMA made more than 9999 Mauser rifles during a production year, the letter prefix would allow the re-use of the same 4 digit numbers.
Are you sure that the "rimless rimfire" isn't an internal centerfire cartridge?
If you know the people in the right departments you can get nearly anything shipped back, even today. I wouldn't take the chance but I know of people who are quite willing to ship 'souvenirs' back...
That particular SS helmet only has the sticker on the one side. I guess some of them were only marked on the one side.

Here are the only markings that I could find on the helmet:

My mother in law asked me to sell it for her so I put it...
Thanks for the all the replies, gentlemen! I posted this up on Gunboards, as well, and a member was able to provide this:
Original U.S. WWI M1917 Doughboy Helmet- 104th Infantry Regiment Yankee...
My mother in law found an old helmet today. I know it's a WWI helmet, but not much else. Anyone know what the symbol painted in the front represents?

I think buffers do more harm than good. They reduce the amount of travel and with the same spring you are increasing the opportunity for the carrier to make contact with the rear trunion, through...
Interesting... I've never had the opportunity to test the zero at the two distances. I will say that the sight works very well shooting from a bench or prone at the local 100 yd range. I have a...
Makes sense.
Here's the Enfield mount that I just purchased:
