Perfect. Thanks for the help
Mike
Hello all, I'm finishing a 1917 Winchester and the only piece I need is the butt plate. What is the correct finish for the winchester butt plate? Black or brass or?
Thanks,
Mike
As a thought, did you try installing without the magazine and see if it fits better. That said, it looks the rear sleeve and bolt look longer than the old.

I will say that I had another short screw that came with a trigger housing and it was 1/4 longer and would bottom out before it would tighten the housing. I...
The two screws that hold the action in are different lengths. Are they possibly reversed?

Hello, I came into an Eddystone P14 sporterized for free from a family member. The action, barrel etc was intact and in great shape but the bolt was not numbers matching (headspace good).Given the...
The 1917 is beautiful but the price is roughly $1500 US? Is there an issue export a gun stock from the states into Canada? Is it like shipping a working weapon over the border? I'm asking because I...
I’ve been working a P14 sporterized project myself over the last couple of months. Luckily my metal was all in great shape. The small parts are readily available on EBay and through various...
I would absolutely do that. I’m happy to buy the magazine and postage. Thank you for the offer

Any chance I could get a picture of the Flaig’s ad? Believe it or not, I have a 1914 I’m bringing back to original that was purchased there around 1960. Flaigs is long gone but it was legendary...
I'm looking at them now. Thanks for the heads up.
I also saw that Numrich has a reman stock ($207.50) but the description is a bit confusing as it calls it both a P14 and a 1917. Is anyone familiar...
I acquired a bastardized/sporterized p14 and I would like to put it back into a military stock. The bolt SN doesn't match the remainder of the gun so I'm not overly concerned with it being super...
I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. It was a marking on the bolt itself. I finally found side by side pictures of a P14 bolt Vs 1917 bolt. I think i'm good
One other question. The bolt number does not match reciever, barrel and sight. It also has a circle stamp with the letters US in the middle. With the gun came a 1917 magazine ( I believe), not in the...
Great. Thanks for the help
All, I have two Lee Enfield WWII era rifles and recently acquired (free) a sporterized P14. I'm trying to decipher the markings. I believe it to be an Eddystone built ( ERA - 476880) but it has a...
Comically, I've been rejuvenating the wood this week with tru-oil and I reassembled tonight to take a picture and it was a snug fit...Go figure
My recently acquired No4 MK1* has a rear top forehand, retainer ring that is loose and floating. it is even loose an floating with the rear wood intact. I have no history on this gun and don't have...
Thanks for the heads up on the disassembly. I have the mag for it, it’s just not in the picture. I’m experimenting with a few things on one of the smaller and conspicuous black stains
Any thoughts on removing the dark marks? I don’t believe it is dirt or Cosmoline but a saltwater reaction is interesting, something I never would have guessed.
What pieces are missing? Any help...

Hello, My first post here. I picked up a decent No4 MK1* Saturday. I inherited a sporterized Enfield 20 years ago from my Dad. He had done it in the 60s long before they were deemed collectible. It’s...
