From what I have been able to gather, the soviets used rags to apply the shellac.
I had the same thing happen. If you let it dry long enough, it will harden somewhat but will bubble anywhere the rifle gets hot. Most annoying. Better to mix your own in small batches.
Nice. $2300? Ouch!
Ain't that there thing purty? I am tying hard not to buy that thing & further my financial ruin. Would it have a two groove barrel?
He can't be serious. What the hell kind of mount is that anyway?
You would think with their economy circling the bowl the US would be doing all it can to encourage exports. Come to think of it, this whole state department thing is really getting on my nerves. They...
I had a theoretical conversation with God about the Liberals(& the UN) & their stupid laws. The almighty said in a booming voice like he was talking from mount sinai " If you don't like it, run for...
Sounds like fun. What is COW? How did you lap the mould?
BTW if I had the cash I would snap that up in a second. Of course if I had that kind of loose change, I would buy it, take it apart & whittle myself a semi out of billet in my fully equipped machine...

Finally got some milsurp ammo to sight in the snipers & here are the results. The fist two are actually the last shot of the day. I shot the izhevsk the week before when all I had was handloads. They...
I just compared my rifle to the one on the mkl & interestingly enough, that rifle has some # stamped on the butt too. Also noticed the scope covers have the same pattern in the strap. I wonder if my...
I bought it from a gunnnutz member. He used to live on the east coast of Canada & bought it about ten years ago. The story is it has been in Canada since the late 60's. This member had quite the...
Its a 44 izhevsk & no sa mark. The scope base threads in the reciever are blued so they are not recent tapped. As a side note I found two more numbers stamped into the butt near the serial. Both #...
I know what you mean about the pics needing more light Claven, but for now I am restricted to taking pics in the basement(not much light at all). More pics are comming when I get the cosmo off. I...
