Bit of an oddball post i know but,

A good friend of mine who does a lot of Sambar hunting here in Aus, took a 34" Sambar Stag a couple of weekends ago with my No4T...the shot was approx 160yds ....

I have never taken any notice of the markings before on the No1 MK111,s ....

A friend donated me this old Lithgow .... could someone explain the markings on the receiver rear , the 1 ,2,3,4, ......10 ect..?

Just a small update,

After pondering what colours to refinish the fire ext bottles, i decided on the silver with the red tops ( as mine were originally) .
I have seen examples of the bottle...

Took these on one of my trips to Pucka..

This was a "Genuine" No4T barrelled action i had, i rebuilt it back to a complete usable rifle. I get as much joy out...

Well , some small but very tricky items installed..

New convoy lights stripped and re finished and mounted front and rear.......new armoured wiring looms fitted, this was a a "bigger than Ben Hur"...

I have a Mint "Unfired" L42A1 , recently i have been shooting my Enfield No4T,s and very much enjoying the experience.

I decided it was time to try the L42 as i had always heard they had a superb...

Well it has taken about 10 months to strip each of the 6 suspension station,s , re finish/paint and install as well as the 24 new road wheels, which were also stripped and re finished.

Ever since i have had this rifle, ( 1945 BSA No4T) the No32 Mk3 has always had "seized" turrets.
Until recently it never really bothered me, but i decided i would like to have them operational...

Went out this morning with a couple of friends to try the Mk2 on the rifle.

We had alot of mirage , but still very nice results, averaged 3/4 MOA at 175yds...:)

The rifle....it is a GENUINE BSA No4T barrelled action that i have had for a while. The Action/barrel/bolt are matching, but the rest of the "original" parts were long...

Having just received my mount from Roger ( Thanks Roger :)) , i installed my Mint No32 that i have just purchased ..( thanks Peter :)) .

That explain,s why i have seen so many variations on the finish.

What was the "original" issued finish on the No32 mk 1, 2 ,3?

Were they "Blued" or "Painted"? or were they only painted after a refurb?
