WINCHESTER P-17 P17 RIFLE WALNUT STOCK & HANGUARDS : Rifle Stocks at GunBroker.com
I think when Patrick said "commercial", he meant an outside entity i.e. gunsmith replaced the Eddystone barrel with the Winchester
According to Ferris, RIA made a run of replacement 1917 barrels
The stock is either a Remington or Smith Corona 1903A3 stock. If there is a diamond stmp in that group in front of the trigger housing, it is a Smith, if not it's Remington.
You can try Springfield sporters, or perhaps Joe DeChristopher
The gentlemans name is Joe DeChristopher, his web link is below
DeChristopherMilitaria.com
Craig, Try soaking it for a day or two in Kroil or WD40. I have removed one or two from my M1917's & they can be a real b#*^h
I have a bunch of the Aggressive Engineering clips & have had no problems with them.
Rest in Peace Mr. Deane. Your love & knowledge of the M1 will forever be remembered through th GCA
How about Sarco
I'm utterly speechless...please,please pass my condolences to Chuck & his family.
Springfield. The non-serified P on this stock is a rebuild proof mark.
I picked up a very nice Remington 03A3 at the Hamburg PA store...did the same thing combining points & cash off coupon. Saved myself a few bucks. Every once in a while they have some nice rifles on...
Yep, Eddystone barrel
I have a '03 with the same mark, & was wondering the same.
If anyone is in the NY/NJ/PA area & are looking for a SC, Cabelas in Hamburg, PA has a sporter (chrome turn down bolt, sporter stock, no handguard) for $450.00. Barrel full length, SC stamped & I...
My 1917 bolts are all marked with the maker on the underside of the bolt handle HTH
Here we go gang...what do ya'll think?
