Great looking rifles!
Using a high hold the angle puts my finger in the position to pull the trigger straight to the rear and fills my hand better than the A2. It kind of forces you to have a better grip. The A2 seems to...
Uses a single AAA battery rated for 1000 hours, I am still on the first battery after a year. It has 4 different reticules, A 2 moa dot, dot in a doughnut, chevron over a dot with bdc, and T with...

Something I pieced together.
Spikes...
There are only a hand full of companies making the AR receivers and then just stamping the end users name on them. Stag, Rock River, Bushmaster etc. buy theirs from them. In the AR game the receivers...
Nice rifle! Why didn't she tell you her sling needed to be attached correctly?
I stand corrected, birch not beech. Thanks Brian!
If you change your mind about the species of wood, I have a Savage forend in beech. It has never been on a rifle. PM me if interested.
Here is mine. Was given to me by a cousin who traded some car parts for it around 1970.
Guess I should have checked your location, don't know what is happening in the Canuk firearm world.
I just sold an all matching 1944 LB for $225 US. I had owned it for over 10 years. Times are tough so keep your eye out for bargains.
Judicious use of a file is what it sounds like it needs then. I just have terrible luck and get squeamish about such things. Seems I am always saying "just have to take off just a wee bit more" and...
Those mounts are very expensive, I would be darned if I would be filing on it!
A gent had one of those stands at a local gun show last winter, had a cut away No.4 mounted in it. It was definitely an interesting display.
I would take a British made rifle over one made in a third world country (given they both were in good shape) any day.

Significant difference. The Mk 1 fore-end is solid where it mates to the butt socket and utilizes a tie strap that is riveted for reinforcement. The Mk 2 is open in that area and uses a screw that...
No joke. I would need a divorce lawyer if I spent that much on a rifle.
You might try mineral spirits and steel wool before the linseed oil. If it is really dirty acetone works good. Whatever you do do not sand the wood, and I would advise staying away from water based...
Wasn't trying to ruffle your feathers there conductor. But since this is a "Forum for discussion by serious collectors of Lee Enfield arms, accessories, ammunition, and accoutrements" I thought I...
Beech would be the most correct, but since you are refinishing it (and destroying any collector value) I guess it doesn't really matter.
Are you marking these as reproductions? It might be something to consider.
The way it left Fazakerley. ...
You don't see guys talking about new Remchesters on a Mauser collectors forum.
