The barrel is 21 3/8" to the front of the reciver. The front sight is soldered on and looks like a long sport style sight. I'll try to get a pic up in a day or two

Thanks for the info. It really has no markings left when it was sportized most where sanded off.
Haha good to know I'm not the only one with an oddball barrel. I started just pushing them less into the sizing die seems to work good they chamber nice and I'm on the 4th reload with no lost cases....
Thanks for the info. Does the "A" on the stock mean it was a AVT at one time?
I have this SVT 40 I was trying to find some background on it. From what I read online am I right to assume it was a 1942 AVT 40 stock and receiver then in the 80s it was refurbished with the SVT...
That does seem vary close just the shoulder diameter is so far off. I just tried sizing with my 303 brit dies and only going part way in so not sizing the whole case. I loaded them with some cast...
So here is the ross I have and this is the dimensions im getting from the fired brass. the markings on the barrel in the pics are all that I can find on it seems a lot of sanding has been done to...
Thanks for that info. I'm going to try to load a picture of the demenstions of a fired case up here later tonight.
I just did some trading and ended up with a BRS 99. These things are so fun i'd suggest if anyone on here gets a chance defiantly get one. I have the 18" barrel on mine and it chronys at 1440 fps...
So I measured with the 303 magnum measurement on those sites and there farther off then the 303 brit round. Found out that 280 Ross brass can make 303 magnum tho haha I've been making 280 Ross from...
Thanks for posting the pics. I was looking in a reloading manual and noticed a round called 303 magnum looked close maybe it was chambered for that. My manual has no mesurments for the 303 magnum tho.
I slugged the bore it is .310. The neck opens to .332 ID but the side walls stay almost perfect. The neck rounds out more and gets less angle. I haven't quit figured out how to load pics on here from...
Hi I have a 1905 Ross sprtized in 303 brit. I've read that they had the chambers reamed to make extraction easier. The one I have only puffes the shoulder and neck is this normal? The rest of the...
Yeah all my kynoch rounds measured the same I have some Winchester rounds that measured .287 also.
Just wondering was that meant to be .286 to.287?
Thanks for all the info. I got two of them I traded a guy a Winchester pump 22 for them. One was heavily molested (sportized) I got rid of that one. The one I kept was pretty much all original except...
Ah that's where I should put it. Sorry about that.
How many reloads do you get with the 300 win mag brass? I've used that brass before buy had head separation after just 2 reloads. I've been using 375 ruger brass with way better case life just a...
My m10 was actually bought new in 1916 by my great grandfather but it's been sitting for about 40 years till I started reloading for it. It shoots the kynoch rounds really nice but I don't have many...
Good to know thanks for the info.
In the COTW book I have it has 4350 powder but it don't say imr. is this the same powder as imr 4350 that's sold nowadays? I'm using 56gr imr4350 with a 154gr bullet and it has a load listed for 60gr...
Yeah they are didn't see a place for Swedish.
Yeah that's the reloading manual I have it's the 3rd edition. I also have a ideal boom from the 20s with data in it but that's way to old to use haha.
Just got a ag42b wondering if anyone has reloaded for these and what powder was working best?
The problem I'm having is the newest book I found with load data for the 280 Ross was published in the 70s.
