Hi, thanks to Brian Dick for sharing the scope tin label for the No.4T - I was after one for the L1A1 scope and made this up from the image that Gil Boyd posted some years back.
Hope this helps...
And an L4A3 that I’ve just acquired https://www.milsurps.com/images/imported/2021/05/14dd8757a60c9db00473520e1274208b-1.jpg
Thanks - I’ve got the 1960 and 1966 issue user handbooks, neither of which refer to these items, although interestingly the 1960 manual still lists and illustrates the Mk7 mortar (for universal...
I just obtained a 1976 dated spare parts list for the 2inch mortar, and it lists two items I’ve never heard of before, and I wondered if any members know what / how they are used;
Rest, Aiming, ML...
Thanks Peter - all credit to your expert tuition :-)
Took a while to get hold of a suitably aged pull through, but I managed to find a double pull through for a Bren for £2.00...which also gave me plenty of raw material if I needed lots of practice.

Thanks Peter, I shall have a go and post a picture when I'm done, please be kind on your feedback as this will be my first one!

Peter
Hi,
Does anyone know how the pull lanyard on a British 2" mortar is constructed?
From photographs they look like a cotton cord plaited to create a 4"ish long pull cord, I can't find a part...
Indeed - but no comments about the scoped L1A1....is everyone feeling shy?
I've always wondered what the configuration of this Royal Marines L1A1 is at the end of the Falklands Conflict (the one kneeling to the right of the FI flag, with 'scope just visible) - an issue...
Thank you, it doesn't have the bolt assist plunger, so must be from the smaller contract.
I've read elsewhere that the British Army were the First nation to adopt the AR15 with an order of 10,000...
I've just added an ex British military AR15 to my collection (deactivated) as appears common on ex British AR15's the serial number has been machined away on the magazine well, but it does have the...
Yes, I thought so.......but even now I can't get access granted to the FAL Files forum.....who'd a thunk that?!?
So after 3 months of digging, scrounging and pleading I've been fortunate enough to get my hands on the original service manual for the 105mm recoilless rifle, which confirms that the FM FAP...
Yep me to, not sure exactly what the joining criteria are, but suspect you have to reside in one of the Americas!
Thanks Peter, don't suppose you have any knowledge of the Argentine FAL based version? I'm guessing they were removed at the end of the Falkalnds conflict from the recoilless guns, did any make it...
I should also have mentioned that the British 120mm MOBAT recoilless gun had a coaxial Bren gun mounted as a spotting rifle, so I think that there may be a precedent for smaller calibre spotting...
3592435925Indeed, lets hope it sparks some debate!
I've attached a copy of the best photo that I have showwing the rifle in position, and a shot of the corresponding boss on the 105mm.
On the...
Hi, I'm looking for any information or photographs relating to the FAL heavy barrel rifles fitted to the Argentine 105mm recoilless rifles.
I've read elsewhere that they had a 5 or 10 round...
A question for the British contingent I suspect, but when did Sterling SMG's gain their wrinkle finish paint? was it applied in the factory, or a base refurbishment feature - and if so when did it...
