Nice to know there are other good JJ co examples out there, the first SMLE i purchased was a JJ co marked 1916 BSA III*, all the original numbers and parts seem to be in place with only the barrel...
I can vouch for Roger's repro base - brought one some years back and its a top quality piece of work...
My one arrived as well, Lithgow as predicted.
It has 2 numbers, neither are struck out A1791 (with the 1* marking) and also 3729 a bit further round. Looks like a 2 42 date stamp. Did Lithgow...
Will do sir.....
I ordered a mk1 barrel to go with my ‘39 Enfield Bren, no idea how long it will take to arrive but will be interested to see what it looks like.
According to their website all the mk1’s are gone...
Heads up all,
latest WWA catalogue just dropped though the door today, they now lave a limited number (14) of MK1 barrels (commonwealth I believe) and MK1*'s (24) along with MKII and MKIII's

Thanks for the pictures, quite a difference on the side view then. I like the way they have deactivated the bolt, much more sympathetic than my one.
Will drop you a PM with a question...
I like it - good analogy :)

Yep - that's the beastie.....
I'll see if I can get a better view of the interior, but it looks like there is a bar welded across the opening above the change lever, I'm guessing that it protrudes outside of the sheet metal work...
Hi all,
Vincent suggested putting some pictures up of my MKII as it may be of interest to some. Its an early UK deact, Fazakerly made with a serial number FB-27677, which I think falls outside the...

Hum ... I also have a mark VI webley that has an NZ stamp on it, just a shame that the top 1/2 isn't matching. Perhaps the NZ habit has snuck up on me :0)
Hi,
not sure how useful this will be but here goes....
as promised, here are the serial numbers I've tracked down with the corresponding NZ number and note on the finish. Looks like the NZ...
Sounds like a good idea sir - I'll see what I can find on the net first with uk deacts etc and get a list together.
Any thoughts of what to record? serial number, nz "serial number", finish,...
I guess the advantage of a common weapons specification :0)
Thanks vince - PM Sent on the offchance that it may be correct, but don't got to to much trouble if it's a pain. Dont have access to a lathe etc, but I can ask a chap at work to modify it if it is a...
Thanks - Sadly the MG is long gone. - I miss that car...... :0(
I remember along time ago having all sorts of problems with a scratched dash on my MG Midget, never did take the brave pill and try and reverb the finish, probably for the best :0)
Re you comment...
Thanks Peter, that explains why the finish looks quite thin I wonder if that was the uk dealer you mention or during its military life somehow. Definately the sten's poor relation in the deact...
Thanks BP, wasn't sure if they were originally allsupplied with a commercial crackle finish, all smooth,or a mismatch of both if they had been supplied in different batches / orders over time.
