Pecards is what I use, but a little goes a long way. I find it best if used very sparely. Just a small dab will do ya. I have used Pecard Antique Dressing on light leather and it had little effect...
Last week I traded a RE P14 with a Model of 1917 stock. The hand guards had red paint inside the rivet holes. Nothing much matched, but was an excellent shooter.
