The problem was the firing pin/cocking piece.
I believe the problem is the Firing Pin assembly (Cocking piece).

I compared parts with the original bolt and they seemed ok....
The original bolt works fine, the new correct bolt causes trouble.
Headspace checks out ok.

The safety won't operate because the grooves on the Safety latch don't line-up with the grooves on the cocking piece. I must pull back on the cocking piece slightly while operating the safety latch...
4 Days, Hundreds of patches, 3 bore brushes, Butches Bore Shine, Hoppes, Kroil, Break Free, JB's and I finally have a clean bore.
Amazes me how that much grud can be in a barrel.

I'm cleaning the barrel of a recently purchased 03A3 and I'm using "Butch's Bore Shine and Kroil". Seems to me I read somwhere that Kroil doesn't play nice w/ certain cleaners.

Found the specs for the Clip latch @ Garand gear website.
The front measures .1225" the spec is .132" -.015".
The Clip Latch is within .0055", that's a small number....
I replaced the Clip latch & spring. The Enbloc clip ejection problem has been solved.
The past hour I have been researching my books but failed to find any dimension specs on the front or rear lug...
I realize that shotgunning the problem cost more money...
But in the process I'll learn more about the M1 Garand & the various measurement between parts.

I ordered a Clip Latch, Clip Latch Spring, Clip LatchPin & a Bullet Guide from Fulton Armory.

This problem happened several time using different clips.
I must be mistaken' ....seems like I've seen several pictures that looked as if the sight was purposely bent at an angle.....I have one on order....
