Don't have an A1A but rather a No4 converted by Black River Armory (U.S.) It uses Roumanian 5 and 10 round single stack AK mags.
If it has the brass stock disc, and that disc is marked, you should be able to tell the LAST folks to use it. Thousands upon thousands of dead soldiers smle's were recovered and refurbished from...
then there is the Indian sheet metal grenade sight which pivots on those two little holes you find on the mid barrel band of some of their No1Mk3 rifles. Once bought the rifle just to get that sight...
Just remembered, a No1 Mk3 with anti-aircraft bars on the rear sight, like the Arisakas. Saw one at the Pattern room in Leeds before they moved it.
Wonder if the bolt was modified to work with the magazine he bought? It's not just a simple slap in the magazine deal.
Just for fun, I do have a chest carrier for four 7.62 Bren magazines. It came with 4 NEW magazines.
But it looks nothing like the one pictured (a lot better made) and the magazines are in...

As long as the info got out, just never ran into that before;)
Took mine to the range this week. At first it wouldn't fire. Found out I had forgotten to remove the chinese barrel.(7.62x39) Fortunately I brought a spare barrel and then it worked fine...

OK, I give up! Why does this forum delete websites??? I tried to send the website for a Bren part to someone who was looking for one. It deleted the website! I tried to send a private message to...
For some bloody reason, everytime I tried to post the website it wouldn't take! Hope it works this time
I Give up! you will just have to use the phone number! He will be there all day wensday.
Lets hope you didn't wait to long to go back and buy it!

Oh by the way, Warren, what ever happened with that extra target frame for the Swift Training rifle that you were going to sell to me?:D
I fired one ONCE! pushed me back a foot!
Then there was the guy who bought one, and couldn't figure out what the washers were for. So he just screwed the muzzle brake all the way down. wound up...
If I had his money, I would burn mine!
Add to that, the STEN was made in different countries, some right under the noses of the germans. The IRA also made them
DA382 (heavy barrel, no handguard)
Given the date, that rifle must have had a later forend. On one of that vintage, there usualy was a metal bit inletted into the rear of the forend that the squared off end of the buttstock bolt...
