There is a Remington P-14 on gunbroker right now for 415.00 buy it now. Description says it has a shiny barrel. 700.00 Is a bit high for a P-14.
OK maybe I'm having a senior moment. Is your P-14 a 30 cal or a 303. I never thought to try a 308 bullet in my P-14's. Could you clear up my confusion before I load some up
Thanks
Doug
E-mail the NMLRA and ask for a complimentary copy of Muzzle Blasts. It's their monthly magazine. In it you will find a list of all the ML clubs in the association. A contact is listed for each...
Nice rifle. What load were you using? Need more video of the second shooter:lol:
I didn't see anything wrong with what you said.
I'd say it's an SC bolt.
pictures would help. If they are in the same shape ( stock , bore condition ) etc. I'd take ths SC. Better option would be get them both:p
Google 1917 front hand guard. Lots of new ones listed.
Hope this helps.
+1 on what Patrick said. If you can get the nipples out put them in a drill press to use the fine file. You could use a drill also.
I use the CMP greek ammo or my reloads. 150 grain bullets the bulk military from widener's
I wish I had friends like that.
Looks like 500 for the gun and the rest for the history lesson. :move eek:

Nice rifle.
I did almost the same thing a couple of months ago. Like yours mine had the mum intact. It had a screwed up rear sight and was missing the follower and spring. Found the sight...
I agree with Jim. 250 to 300
My South african is a navy. Butt plate is marked S.A.N and and a 4 digit number.
+ 1 Supercub.
Yep I missed an O. I just think if 90 + replies doesn't answer your question, then and another 90 won't either. :banghead:
Is there anyway this thread can be locked?? If you want to shot one go ahead and shot it. Let Darwin do his work

Everything in the article is hype. The price is ridiculous.
I was thinking it could have been bead blasted when I commented on the cast lock plate. The way the plate looks in the pic is the same as a cast plate on a new lock (L&R, Siler etc). Now I think your...
It looks like a contemporary lock to me. Casting is to crude to be from the percussion era. the lock plate looks cast also. Need pics of the whole gun.
Hooked on History
I'd love to but he gave the rifle to a niece before he passed away and it's in Idaho now.
I had an Uncle Carl who passed away in 2010. He was 92. He sent a type 99 and bayonet to my Grandfather and told him to keep it till he got home. He told me he took it from a case of rifles that was...
+1 on what he said.
