Very nice 03a3. I don't think 900.00 is that bad, remember, they aren't making them anymore. That and the fact that even finding one that hasn't been molested is getting harder and harder.

Very nice! A Remington 1903 is on my short list, that a a Rock Island.
Actually, Those single heat treat bolts were forged by the same guys who were burning the receivers, so the bolts ought to be burnt at a similar frequency. Hence because they are suspect by the same...
There is a 1903 listed on a local paper. 1918 serial number. Went to look at it today, not too bad, barrel has 1930 date, grasping groove stock, has a extra 1918 barrel to go with it. The bad is...
Thanks John.
Is there any hit for Serial number 849651 1903 Springfield? Thanks in advance.
It appears that the Japanese flight suit is a heated one, hence the plug hanging out on the right rear of the suit. I don't believe that they were all of the heated style. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Nice! Mines dated February 1920. Does yours have any discernable cartouches? Mine doesn't, which it seems, isn't unusual for Mark 1's.
Buttplate pictures, I stand corrected, there is no screw on top. Length of pull is approximately 13 3/8"
I'll try to take a picture tomorrow and post. Pretty much flat, heavy brass. They just took off enough wood to make it flat as they still used the mortise and original screw hole on top.
A&M university? That's different. Was this a usual thing? For rifle team or what purpose? Thanks for the quick reply.

This is my first Trapdoor, overall it's pretty nice but sometime in the past someone took off just enough of the butt stock to put on a brass? flat butt plate. Will soon post pics. Serial number is...
Yes, I should have mentioned about the 03a3 stock. I'm not sure about the bolt, I haven't had the chance to consult my books yet but it is stamped with a SA and above that is a R laying on its back?
Pics.
Well, I somehow got the pictures added to my file upload manager but I can't drag on drop the pictures to the attachment box below the picture files. Maybe a tablet thing?
The problem is, the pictures are on my phone, I tried emailing them to myself so I could save them to myself tablet but that didn't work either. I did notice that on the tablet there are more options...
One of my main addictions other than TC Contenders is 1903/03A3's. I have a 1903 MK1 from 2/1920, with all the original parts. This past summer I picked up this Springfield Armory 1903. According to...
Yes, the bolt is numbered to the rifle. I always liked the Balvar also, I remember my uncle had one on his Winchester varmint .243 win that he used to hunt groundhogs. He was a Army Sniper in Korea....
Herschel, Thank you very much!! Granted, the pictures aren't the best. I took them in my basement, not the best lighting, also I just wiped it down with some clp. The bolt well is in the white. The...
Recently I picked up this Springfield M1922M. It came with a B&L Balfor 6x24 scope. I wasn't totally sure of which model it was, as the LGS where I purchased it had it marked an M2, which I was sure...
I came across at my lgs a 1903, serial numbered to 1918 with 1-18 SA Barrel. I have lusted for a WW1 1903 for awhile. While the stock, trigger guard floorplate and bolt were wrong I figured in time I...
I have researched serial magazine articles as well as several books, Poyer, Brophy and others. In all of them that have articles on the 1903 MK1 that have pictures none of them show any cartouches....
Thanks Herschel
I have joined the SRS and would like to know how I can have someone search my 1903 MK1 s/n. I sent an email to editor@usmartialarmscollector.com but have not heard back anything.
