Jacket = $100 Shooterpad = $20.00
The shooting jacket is a good idea, but since I've already got the Shooterpad (which fits very nicely and is good and soft) I'll try using it....

Here it is in it's stock configuration.
For all you purist out there, I too am mostly a purist, so I have no intentions of altering this...
I have owned and shot the Russian, Albanian, Chinese and Yugoslavian SKS.
The Yugos do not have chrome lined barrels, but if you clean your gun as you should, this isn't an issue. I have found...
I feel better now.
I got a complete bolt assembly in from Numrich.
The bolt wouldn't slide in at first. I noticed the bolt head wouldn't turn enough counter-clockwise to slip into the receiver. ...
I just ordered a complete bolt assembly after the tool (with ample amounts of lube) didn't budge it....and I broke the tool.

I was just going by the above link on 7.62x54.net. But I also noticed the only have pre-war, early war, and late/post war mentioned. They have mine in the...

The bottom of the mag has been force matched.
I have an Izzy 1941 M38, which I presume to be an early war.https://www.milsurps.com/images/imported/2007/04/STA70902-1.jpg
It also has the early war-type sling-slots....

Words cannot describe how jealous I am.
Very, very nice.
Well...this went good...............not!
After removing the correct screw and soaking in penetrating oil, I broke the two "teeth" off of the special removal tool. I think the striker had been in...

Thanks for the offer. I live in the country of....I mean the state of Texas.:)
I may try that and keep the new one as a spare.

Not my first Mosin, but my first M38...a 1941 Izzy.
Next...my Russian SKS...
Thanks. I've ordered the tube-thing from Numrich as well.
The firing pin (striker) is my best guess as to the failure to fire.
The unfired rounds (decent ammo, new) show a dent on the primer. I...
My No4 Enfield stopped firing. The end of the firing pin looked like it had been broken or chipped off, so I've order a new one from Numrich. Wondering if I should've ordered a spring, too. Any...
