On the British Militaria forum a friend was trying to work on his Martini and had a very heavy trigger pull so I showed him a trick to lighten the pull without changing the originality of the rifle....
That is simply beautifull. I would love to have an action like that as a base to build a lovely little varminter on.
Giday Mumbles Have replied positively to you PM via email. A few hours with hand tools and you rifle will really start to offer up its best potential with no permanent change to the action.
Sorry for the thread hijack Dave. Will leave it to go back to your range rifle. Looking forward to seeing the results after your test piece.
Thanks Dave.
Mostly it was wanting them for myself and not wanting (or being able to afford) to pay someone else to do it for me. There have been a few over the last couple of years I have been...
I have done quite a few lee Speed styled rifles and the martini is a lovely action to stock.
The Lee Enfield is for a Mk 3 pattern stock.and is finished except for a little sanding now....
That is a great start to what will be a really nice range rifle. Making a stock would finish it very nicely indeed.
I am just starting a new sporter stock for a martini in 303 British and as I am...
Here are a couple I have done for myself. I am more inclined toward the Lee speed but finding (and affording) genuine rifles is beyond my budget so I make them from the long lee rifles that are quite...
I made my own and changed the original pins for longer 1/4 bolts and modified the head but the sight works nicely. Bit of a write-up on the restoration and a look at the sight here LSA Martini...

The addition was to lengthen the stock to 390mm -...

Certainly a gripping read if it is all in that vein.
Yes and this is a good read on the NZ ME Carbine.

I managed to find a nosecap and have been able to get the forestock shaped up. I wanted a easier sighting system for my blurry eyes and having aperture sights on anther couple of rifles, I knew how...
This is what I intend the rifle to be when it is finished. It has NZ issue marks for 1898 and is a 1879 MKlll 577-450 converted at in 1896 to 303.

Thanks Phil. This is the Martini Enfield in 303. My initial post was an introductory post and the mods re-posted it here with the Martini Cadet 22 header and I cant change it to reflect what the...
Have made a little progress. It is always a little un-nerving to cut into the blank.

Giday Guys, first post here. I had my first Martini cadet in 22 Hornet back in 1980 -81 but was offered enough that it slipped away. Just a few weeks ago I bought a Martini Enfield on a local auction...
