Did a battlefield tour last year and then stayed in Istanbul for 5 days. Exceeded all my expectations and I highly recommend you go if you can.

Looks legit to me. The rear sight is Canadian and likely original. Are there any c broad arrow marks on the rifle?
Sounds like a reasonable price to me. Bear in mind the sling is wrong for the rifle and the sling swivel at the very front near the muzzle is not correct and should be removed.
Could that be Canadian Mounted Rifles? According to the website I looked at the Cape Mounted Rifles was disbanded in 1870.......
