I suspected this, but I'm more of a missile guy,,,,and like I said, the two jets I saw crash didn't make any noise till they smacked the ground..although on the second one I was close enough to hear...

Back in the 60s, I remember a TV show, I think it was named Biography and they featured a story on Gabaldon (or at least that's who I think it was). He watched his Japanese friends shipped off to...

I'm reading this for about the fifth time...it's a great book, unusual that it's from a German soldier's point of view.
I really suggest you read it. You can get it from Amazon.com for about...
The Russians finally declared war against Japan in the very latter stages of the war to justify their seizure of land..

I bought some of that camo in 1973 at a surplus store in Cheyenne. Oddly enough, it worked just fine Wyoming summers....all three weeks of it.
I do remember seeing a picture of the Royal Navy skipper of one of the ships that sank the Bismarck, and he only had one row of ribbons...so I think they are little less inclined to just hand them...
I loved it, marching to Whiskey in the Jar...how very Irish...
I for one am very glad the British are our closest friends...I've served with them and I like them...even if they can't explain...
Does the British military have an equivalent medal to our Purple Heart?
