This one saw Canadian service and has the red band painted on the forestock with 30'06 over printed in white. It has a few markings on the buttstock and barrel (see pics).

Not that anyone out there has a rifle chambered for this baby, but it is milsurp and you just may run across it and wonder what it is.
Whatever you do don't try shooting it out of your nice new...
Re: gun shop importation charges. I believe Questar charges about $200 ... but then again their market is probably more high end 'black guns' than milsurps. I suppose a collectible M-H might make it...

Claven, I've read of a procedure where the neck is heated while the base of the case sits in water. What kind of effect would this have on the brass? Would the brass then require hardening...

I had noticed the Crown stamps on other guns and concluded they were Danish marks, but the figuring out the story behind Anchor never dawned on me until recently.
My Springfield produced Garand spent some time in Denmark before its importation to Canada and has an engraving of an anchor on the receiver. My friend asked if that meant it was a "Navy" gun .... I...
