Is this a rifle from the CMP or a private purchase?
Hey guys, I need help with something.
I just bought an original Inland M1 Carbine. It has a flip sight, type 1 band, etc.
I test fired 10 rounds through it the other day and it functioned...
Yeah, I agree! The funds are going towards a very sweet M1 Carbine that I hope to pick up today or tomorrow....
Depending on where you are located and who you can show it to, I can see that rifle going for 600+.
Anything that has the nazi birds on it gets snatched up eventually. And bore condition seems to...
I ended up selling it to a friend for $600. I think it could go higher on gunbroker but I don’t fool with selling on there.
Yeah, unfortunately the repair doesn't look as good from the other side...
Thanks for the info twh!
Pretty neat. After more googling I found pictures of another garand with the exact same markings on the barrel. Must have been stamped on the same day as mine! I did see...
Update:
I detail stripped the "Dutch" Garand. I replaced the old recoil spring, greased the rifle with Mobil 1 Synthetic grease, and dropped in a Garand Gear gas plug since I had one on hand.

Hey Everyone,
I wanted to ask opinions on the value of a Russian Capture Kar98K. I know generally they run anywhere from 400-600 depending on the condition, location, and buyer. However, I wanted...
Yeah I’ll try to post a range report within the next week or two.
Field grade. External it’s rough, which bothers me not at all. I prefer the been there look on Milsurps, especially Garands. But cool thing is, the barrel is 1+ on muzzle and throat wear. So...
Yeah the op rod doesn’t match the patina on the rest of the gun. Most likely a cmp replacement.

This barrel just has a very faint WP circle proof on the side of the barrel near where the date would normally be. Honestly I wouldn’t have known it was a Winchester proof if I hadn’t seen it more...
I recently received a Springfield M1 205XXX from the CMP. I am extremely happy with it.
I did have a question about the barrel. It appears to be a Winchester barrel (faintly marked) with no date....
I ended up getting a buyer pretty quickly. Got out of the gun what I had in it. He was happy to buy it even with the timing issues.
I shoot all of my guns, so any that can’t be shot much get moved...
I did ask Smith and Wesson a few days ago, and you are correct, they no longer work on them. Jack First Gun Supplies does not seem to have any parts available on their website.
Honestly, I'm kind...
I thought about it more, and realized I have one moon clip that drops in very easily. It is loaded with self defense ammo, whereas all the other stiff ones were loaded with some remanufactured brass...

I recently acquired a Smith and Wesson 1917. It is US Property marked. It's serial number is 628xx.
The Good:
It came with a leather (non standard issue) holster stamped "Service in Worlds War...
In Tennessee most refurb M1 carbines go fo about $800+-
This also makes it odd that most of the replicas by auto ordnance and Inland are generally more expensive than originals...
While I’m fixing all of this stuff, is there anywhere it is good to glass bed on an Enfield stock?
Beautiful rifle! I’d say 540 is the perfect price—very good deal for you, and your friend got a decent wad of cash.
The barrel extension is peculiar. That’s a weird thing I never knew about these...
Bindi2 can you elaborate? I hadn’t removed either piece of wood before I shot it. What does the butt have to do with the forend since they are separated by the butt socket?
Heartbreaking story fellas.
Took my new Lithgow to my cabin and shot four shots out of it. Somehow the forestock cracked in a severe way. My loads were very modest and showed no pressure signs. I...
