I know of one EM2 in a private collection in Finland. No idea of caliber...
Funny you should say that: the BAR and the desire to own one was the reason I got into collecting. Still haven't found one but a bunch of other cool guns instead. The BAR is my holy grail
Those BARs.... please give them to me. At least one [emoji4]
Here are some pics of the guns (with friends)
The other Government is one of the stamped ones sent to Russia in the "English order".
The other RR1911A1 is few thousand pistols apart, very similar...
That is a lovely (in my opinion, compared it to my own M1A1) original carbine. The stamps all look genuine and in the right places. Also the action is made by Inland which was the only manufacturer...
You might be partially correct; seems at 50000 they started marking the frames with the cyrillic text for English order... This in just the opinion of some collectors, so definately not verified....
Thank you all for the input. Today I bought the Government AND the Remington Rand. The Government is much nicer in person than in the terrible pics. The RR is like new with HS barrel and Scovill...
Hi guys.
I have the fun opportunity to select one, two or three of the following pistols. The two Colts (1911 and Government) are priced exactly the same, the Remington Rand is a few hundred...
Thanks Peter, you really know your stuff! Serial is K.69XX. The barrel is not matching in number to rest of gun.
Took some quick pics with my phone of the clearest markings, the gun has been refinished at some point. A quick google search told me the SLAZ-markings are for Slazenger. Didn't know they did BREN...
That is correct, I managed to get the pin out, thanks. Easiest way to get all the cosmo out was to first melt all the major chunks using a heat gun followed by a mineral spirits bath. The gun itself...
Thanks guys, brass drift and a few light taps with a hammer did it. I have literally never seen so much cosmo before, pin was stuck from dried cosmo. Must have laid in a warehouse since the 50ies I...
Hi
Is there a trick or something to push the magazine catch pin out? I tried to simply push it out using a flat metal tool but the pin won't budge. Tried it bolt forward and back and nothing seems...
That's a lovely M1! Yours is quite close in serialnr to mine, 2.35M range. If you are interested in more details/comparsion part by part check my ancient thread for pics: Took some pictures of my...
Didn't even know about a new M1 book being out until I read the GCJ in which the books was mentioned. 2 minutes later I had ordered the book, received it yesterday and am still completely blown away...
Took this pic for a request on another board, thought maybe you'll like it :)
Finally got some pics, enjoy.
Yes, the pistol is in .455. And I'm in Finland, where the pistol is also for sale. I've never seen one for sale here before
It's in .455 still
I am completely new on 1911s, and I ran into a .455 Webley Auto 1911 from somewhere around 1918 probably. Serial is 62.xxx. I've read up on them and found out about their interesting history. But do...
Thanks! Yeah, I was taking a pretty big risk buying it without seeing it. One pretty big issue though: some ****** laquered the stock. But it is in nice shape so I might try to remove it. Did it on...
Well, I got the carbine today and it looks pretty nice. I will get pics up later this week. However, a few things puzzle me.
First of, all stock markings seem legit; CC on pistol grip + IO, circled...
Thank you Bill, but I kind of jumped the gun on this one. I made a very reasonable offer for it and ended up purchasing it. I will post high-quality pics when I get this. Thanks for the help!
Hi guys.
Please have a look at the pics below, does this look genuine?
The buttplate has a number 257614 in it. I know the high-wood is not right for the rear sight, and the carbine has serial...
Wow, that is a nice one! I do not mean to spam my thread in every winnie thread but you might get a kick out of the pics
Took some pictures of my Winchester M1
