I had to look up what a Red-back Spider is. (Nasty bite!)
In my search I found there was also a popular song in Australia from the 70's that talked about a Redback Spider on an outdoor toilet...
I agree Jim. The sling and oiler are certainly reproduction. Still, it's nicer having repros than nothing, and personally I wouldn't spent a LOT of money to buy authentic for any import/rebuild.

I don't want to take away from the OP, but that is one nice looking rifle no4mk1t
(Dang nice shooting too!)
That's not the only POS he has up for sale! ;)

I once thought that I had quite a bit of knowledge about firearms, war vehicles, WWI and WWII aircraft and so much other History of modern weaponry, until I read SO MANY firsthand and expert posts...
Thanks for the book info CINDERS. I just ordered it from Amazon as well as a book by Doolittle and another by Bob Hoover. They were inexpensive and I'm sure I'll enjoy them!
When I did my initial...
That is terrible news CINDERS, and I had not heard about it. Thank you for the dedication and it's fitting here.
Thank you Doug!
We all love preserving military history to educate others, but...
THANKS Doug! (Badger)
It's always been very rewarding to be a small part of your site as a moderator, but it's VERY nice to have a Boss who works as hard or harder than the troops do!

AWESOME Bob!
I swear in the first clip I could smell the lovely, sweet aroma of AvGas & oil when it first belched out the blue smoke. :super:
(I wish someone would make that odor available in an...
Normally I'd say not to restore, but in this case I think you did a great job!
Wasn't that YOUR beat Bill? ;)
PS, Paul S.
I just wanted to say I have always been impressed with your diligent efforts and your unselfish desire to help all of our the other members of our site in any way you are able to....
Holy cow Sarge! You have one of the best collections I've ever seen.
Me too!
AWESOME photos Bob! Thank you for taking the time to share with us. I think your photo of the ME109 raising it's undercharge is one of the best airplane photos I've ever seen.
I believe you're correct Flying10uk. The US tested a larger conventional bomb just a few years back, but it was only a 'test' in Arizona or such. They said it shook towns many miles away.
Times 100 indeed Russ!
And I can take the month or so heat here... I just blast the air conditioner in my house and the AC unit in our hunting cabin.
I spoke of the co-founder of the CAF, Lefty Gardner and finally found this older photo of him and my son at an air show. Lefty became a crop duster after flying bombers in WWII and flying was his way...
An FW-190???!!! Can you find a photo of it or any other knowledge?
There's supposed to a real FW-190 at a small field in South Texas. I've only seen one old photo of it and it looked like it was...
