Apparently the JFK never had the SLEP (service life extention program) refit that would have seen "her" continue service as a front line carrier.
[Why is it when I open a topic to read it and then go back to the list again you can't tell what you've read and what you have'nt? On CSP anything I clicked on and read would turn a different color....

Have you tried shooting with that sight protector on?
I have two SC buttplates. Both are dark, black like the shade of slate.
Doesnt looked blued, but they are both oxidezed/chalky on the in-side.
Were others parked in the light grey "rebuild"...
