I used to use web slings, original Brit. stuff, but I never did find out for what rifle they were made for.

Got very close, but never found an unisued, never fired, except for factory testing.

I had to use a crude tape measure , since my other more precise measuring stuff is out on loan.

I illustrated the results below.

The ladder is 2" and with the base where the pin goes...

I checked them for the adj. on top and none have that. So these are the regular rear sights.

Also, none have numbers stamped on top of the ladders.

I also found a tag marked Enfield rear sights...

I used to collect #5MK1 and have range tested over fifty, or more over the years.

Also #4MK1 and 2s.

In gen. there are too many variables to give any absolute answers.
