the m14's being used by the honor guard did look a little out of place.
it would have tobe a norwegian as u.s. krags did not have numbers on anything but the receiver.
i would worry about the sight. the rifles were rebuilt many times. also the sights were changed from a 96 to a 98 to 01 to a 02. a lot depended on who was in charge and their orders.
i would go with the keyatone. it does have more baulk then the springfield or remington stocks i have handeled. i am leaning toward a feldreplacement stock. they did not stamp stocks in the field.
i have a real a4 the numbers are moved to clear the scope mount. the stock has no marks on it at all. it is a c type. i know it is not a repro. because i bought the rifle in 72.
if the replacment stocks were not ment to be used on either a 03 or a3 then they would not have been inletted for either rifle. i have some keystone stocks that are inletted for both.
i have one dated 1915 i would not use norma loads in it. starting loads in any of the books would be fine. i used cast bullets in mine a lot when i was shooting it many years ago.
