    a way to take up headspace and i have use it before. is to have the back of the locking lugs on the bolt built up with hard chrome. it goes on in layers of about .004-.oo5.

    i would worry about the sight. the rifles were rebuilt many times. also the sights were changed from a 96 to a 98 to 01 to a 02. a lot depended on who was in charge and their orders.

    i would go with the keyatone. it does have more baulk then the springfield or remington stocks i have handeled. i am leaning toward a feldreplacement stock. they did not stamp stocks in the field.

    i have a real a4 the numbers are moved to clear the scope mount. the stock has no marks on it at all. it is a c type. i know it is not a repro. because i bought the rifle in 72.

    if the replacment stocks were not ment to be used on either a 03 or a3 then they would not have been inletted for either rifle. i have some keystone stocks that are inletted for both.

    i have one dated 1915 i would not use norma loads in it. starting loads in any of the books would be fine. i used cast bullets in mine a lot when i was shooting it many years ago.
