Morning Wood, was your Savage aquired in bubba'd/sporter form?
Good on Ya!! I have exactly the same attitude. Bubba in a way has been my friend in supplying cheap Enfields other collectors turn thier noses up to. Most of my restorations are matching #'s and in...
Brownell's Alumahyde II. Easy to work with and gives great protection with durability. Looks like suncorite when applied correctly. I have used the semi gloss version and compared to my original...
This is making me crazy..............push a rag down that bore and let us know what you see!
I would say it's original as all mine have two taper pins running transverse to the barrel and flash hider. The slots you see in his barrel are approx 1/2 the diameter of the taper pins and provide a...
+1 for the cast boolits! Way to go. Once you've got a handle on casting they are as good as most jacketed for accuracy and far easier on the bore. Shooting bullets I have made just adds another level...
Methinks it's an unauthorized bit of scammery. People just cant leave good enough alone!
I have seen and handled a few Savage Enfield rifles but this is something I have never encountered............"made in usa"??? Just doesnt ring true to me.23550
+1_My Favorite Jacketed missile!
m.chalmers is right on with the cast boolits. I have several versions of Lyman moulds and 1 Lee mould which work great. With component prices going thru the roof...
UNISSUED Enfield No.4 Mk2 wrapped in COSMOLINE___________
Just noticed this on gunbroker. I have no affiliation with this auction, just posted it for your interest. Noticed it does have a reserve so...
Was watching tv news and spotted a #4 Enfield perched on the shoulder of a "rebel" walking down the road near Tripoli. Whenever I see reports on the little war going on over there I'm always on the...
On the old Culvers forum was a man went by Terry in Victoria. He had an impressive collection of very nice Enfields that seemed to cover a good share of the Enfield models. He was Canadian I believe....
Auction # 219593266 13 days to go. Wonder if it might turn out to be another one of the high-dollar sales. It does look nice. Almost too nice, but I remember Hunter's lodge back in the 1960's selling...
I'm NOT affiliated with this auction!! BUT, has lots of detailed photos if anyone is interested. Also looks like you will need the big bucks if you even think about bidding. Auction # 216573281

Just a heads up to any who might want to see a mummy wrap Enfield. It's on gunbroker and I have NO affiliation whatsoever with the auction or seller.
Has anybody noticed the Lee Speed on Gunbroker? Looks like a fairly decent example but then I'm no expert on the commercial Enfields.
Are these scopes Chinese made? If they are you can expect nothing BUT trouble.
Gentlemen, I submit my lone Longbranch:
Ser# 69L75XX
Receiver is dated 1944
Matching bolt & receiver
CMkIII rear sight
I bought it "Bubba'd" and all replacement fittings and wood are correct...
Found N66 stamped on the left side of receiver all the way to the front next to the receiver ring. This is on my Maltby which is dated 1942. I have scoured my big Skennerton book and can not find...
Noticed a nice looking #5 sell for $380 on auction site. The seller openly admitted it was refinished and added some detail as to how it was done. Too bad they cant all be that honest.
LOL! At least Bubba left you with a decent amount of forearm. Made a 180 mi. round trip for this Savage about 5 years ago. Luckily it's all matching except for the wood of course. Now it is all back...
What did Savage use for metal finish?
Noticed on one of the two major auction sites a blade bayonet with serial #92C7275. Thought I would mention it in case anyone has the rifle that matches it, however doubtful that may be.
At the same auction site in the earlier thread about the Bubba'd Sniper, there is also a Bubba'd #1 Mk5 which has minimal metal damage and a $275 price as of now. Seller claims it has a very good...
Sorting thru some of my .303 brass and found some stamped WCC 81. Just wondering why Winchester/Olin might have been making .303 ammo at such a late date. A contract to some third world place still...
