Thanks for the replies.
I just went out to my gun room to verify the info I sent. Sorry, I misinformed you. It is actually a Long Branch. The printing on the receiver is as follows:

I just purchased a Fazakerley No. 4 marked:
No.4 Mk 1*3(F)FTR
What is the 3 for? Was it FTR 3 times?
I have some old 8x57R ammo. It's made by Povazske Strojarne and comes in red boxes of 10 cartridges each. It's oxidized a bit but no corrision. Bullets are lead tipped nickle color. Headstamp: PS...
I just talked to a local dealer in milsurp and he said:
W- Winchester
E or ERA - Eddystone
RE - Remington
I have had one with an E, one with a W, and now have one with RE, and one with...
I was told that E or RE were Eddystone, and ERA was Eliphalet Remington Arms, Eliphalet being the company founder.
What does the ERA stand for on a P-14?
I traded for 3 Mk III rifles yesterday. One was a BSA, no date, mag. cut off, windage adjustment, MARTIN on the receiver, and MARTIN USTED on the barrel. Who is Martin?
I just acquired a few new (to me) SMLS's. One is a BSA with the name Martin on the receiver & barrel. Anyone know anything about Martin?
The .312 Hornady 174 gr work best in most of my .303B rifles, particularly in my Ross. I have the Lee mold but haven't been able to find the right load. What powder works best with cast?
Larger pics ... :)
I just acquired what appears to be a military item. It looks something like 2 45/70 cases (without rims) chained together with one a bit smaller than the other so it fits inside the other. The...
Do all SKS's have chrome bores, or just the Norinco ones? Does the Simonov?
My M94 is stamped 1917 with HK after the serial number (94338). Hk was an inspector in 1912, according to Gunner's book. ?
-your front sling attachment is on the wrong side.
I think the barrel band was simply put on backward.
I just bought one like this last week. The barrel is exactly 18" with the addition to the barrel. The brass stock disc is marked I.27 over No 353. The carbine is dated 1917 and the serial number...
Would that be a M-94 Swedish Carbine? I just bought one. it has a barrel about 17" long, buckle missing on mine as is wood ahead of barrel band. Otherwise all original and in quite good shape. I...
How do you adjust headspace on a SMLE?
Lee have a .32 SWC 90 gr pistol bullet mold sized .314. I wonder what that one would do in a Lee Enfield. Has anyone tried it? The Hornady .32 cal (.312) 85 gr HP/XTP handgun bullet works well in...
I bought 2 No.4's, a bullet mold, & an air rifle for $500 last year in Canada. The LB is like new and the Fazerkley was very good, in the process of being restored to full military configuration...
I saw my first one at a gun show in Truro Nova Scotia, Canada last fall. I didn't check the numbers, it didn't look too bad but the owner said it was unsafe to shoot. I don't remember the reason.
Enfields are noted for oversize chambers and any brass will expand a lot under those conditions. Buy a Lee Collet neck sizing die and your brass will last for quite a few reloads.
I would like to get back my Lee Metford carbine, LB .22 cal Jungle Carbine, and LB No.4 RCAF rifle, all of which I sold years ago.

Acording to Stratton, several thousand extra actions were made between 1942 & 1944. Many of these ended up with unit armourers who made up whatever came to mind. I had a 1944 LB Jungle Carbine in...
With the 174 gr Hornady, I use 41 gr of H4895 with good results and am now playing around with IMR3031. So far 36 to 38 gr. is looking very good. I want to try the 150 gr. bullet some time as well....
