About looking for 1903's
Some dude on Armory.Auction has a 1903A3 Smith Corona up for bid, and says he's going to put a bunch more up soon!
Just saying.
Hey anybody see the Rod Bayonet 1903 on GB for $12,000.
What do you think?

Tom
I don't agree on M1903A3 barrels, I always just remove the blade!
Some M1903A3 front sights are a real bitch to remove and put back right!
And I have done this dozens of times, the trick is...
I buy old 03 customs all the time for parts, today I was looking at one of my parts guns that I bought some time in the last 10years and discovered this custom receiver job.
Pretty cool, slide...

I think pictures might get the ball rolling!
Aaha the cartouches explained, I was sure they were not SA or RIA, but I am not familiar with Greek cartouches, but I should have guessed same, but it would have been just a guess!
No body answered the question, but in MHO, the C stock is the only way to go if your not "shooting" for an original configuration rifle, "pun intended".
Cheers
Welcome to the forum dleeharrison, I live in Columbus, but lived in Dayton for 10 years, still have a daughter living there!
Lots of ranges in the region, and many supporting NRA highpower...
I have done some more research, and both Chuck in Denver and Rick the Librarian say they have seen both stamped and scribed A2, so I will say that the receiver is most probably an A2.
Everything...
Please see this link:

Notice the quality of A2 stamping! Just saying!
Waiting for some more opinions on this one!
Well it may not be a NM, but its a very nice gun!
I like it!
Well I am far from the premier expert in this early model RIA, but I am 99% certain this is no 1903A2, and I have never seen any thing that looked like those cartouches before.
I don't remember...
Surely they know what they have there?
At any rate I have bought an A4 on the CMP auction site, the prices go out of sight!
I was crazy enough and flush enough to purchase, and I wouldn't give...
The correct 1918 barrel for your gun is on e-bay right now http://www.ebay.com/itm/131225895458?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
You could use your current barrel band and sight...
Here is a quick reply.
Your 03A3 was rebuilt by the Rock Island Armory RIA, if that is the original stock to the rifle. (Rebuild stamps on the bottom of the stock, and RIA stamp on the side)
Which...
I think the gun community should have a real talk with the firearm curators of the world; they are out of touch with the reality of other museum curators of the world and the items they collect.

I think you will find that bolt is a CC "Commercial Controls" rebuild bolt.
Nothing wrong with it as it sits, some type of minor rebuild, or worn parts replacement is more likely.
I can't speak to...
Here is a picture of my Remington M1917, I would say that what you have is a M1917 part!

Looks like a Heinz 57 to me
This image documents GB status on this!

Back to the point of the thread  I would buy said rifle as a 100% 1903A4, with character!
Which I do appreciate as opposed to some folks!
On a good day I would hope I could get it for 1,800...
I have posted another complaint with Gunbroker.com on this seller, I linked both these sales and my previous complaint.
Doubtful it will help, but it can't hurt!

The above link points to another current 1903A4 fraud on GB from the same seller that another 1903A4 was reviewed and assessed by the...
