Regarding photo "Ouch"
Great find.
A thousand spent very wisely in my view. John
I also would take that bet. I own 72550** M1 (no over stamp) June 22. 1945. "EW" Type 3 Safety.
For what it is worth. There are may thousands of dead buried enemy solders who could attest to the effectiveness of both the M1 Carbine and the Garand. I don't believe any of them would pick one over...
In case you haven't seen the info. New site The U.S. Caliber .30 Carbines go to club, is now up and running. Looks like the Bavarian site when it comes up. Enjoy. John
Bittersweet news today with the arrival of Newsletter #384. One of the best info sources on the M1 Carbine is making some changes. Starting Jan.1,2016 Members will participate in an online only...
It is a cut down '92 rifle stock that had been converted to '96. You can see a portion of the filler still at the front. John
I agree. I own a M1A1 Original Inland 6422xxx with Inland 12-44 barrel and type 3 AI band. John
Hi, Welcome, The carbine is a rebuild very common to have mixed parts. Your front sight I believe is QJ or QN both would be for Quality Hardware. You are correct the FAT is the Italian Arsenal mark....
Excellent comparison. Well worth your time to watch. Thanks, John
Chris, I don't believe it to be the original barrel. There were only 5000 of the I-BR made as a trial type button rifling in the spring of '45. Your S'G' is long before '45. John
Reference I-BR marking can be found in CC newsletter #360p12. Usage was in Spring of 1945. My Inland 6,974### has this barrel. John
New issue arrived. Interesting article on M8 grenade launcher. Get your glasses out to check Union Switch & Signal receiver markings. Renewal time. John
Frank, Try M1 Carbine 15 rnd Magazines At the end of listings is a bottom descriptive piece. John
Look up Chestnut Ridge Supply Gun Parts There are good photos to compare. Start counting dots and locations. Have fun. John
According to some notes in CC newsletters: Full thread--- Standard Products used both thru out production and Inland 1st block used some also. John
SC-B are not uncommon, but S. & C. are uncommon. The S. & C. marking being the very early Sprague & Carleton. The Carbine Club records only had one other reported about 2 years ago when I submitted...
Thanks 604, The S. & C. stocks that are known about are few and very far between. John
Almost 2 years later I found an S. & C. hand guard to go with my S. & C. stock. Just need to do some color matching. John
Charlie, Tucson, AZ. John
Unfortunately in Today's world, everything is overpriced. I'd still rather pay, for example, $125 for an original then waste $75 for a good copy. But that is just me. John
Has anyone had any transactions with a MikeSellsHistory on ebay? He seems to have a lot of listings of older parts. Just wondering. Thanks, John
CCNL'S re: Inland information 1st block--#346, 2nd block-- #353, 3rd block-- #361, & 4th block--#372 John
Due to unforeseen circumstances Brian has sold me the spring tube Rock-Ola. Just to update the info due to the interest in this I have found several anomalies: the recoil plate in the photo appears...
