Repro Ross catalogues are available on Ebay.
It's not a 1910, as the auction says, it's a 1905.
The 1910 had a rear receiver ring.
My Ross book and catalogues are in FL or I'd scan in pics.
It is not a Red Deer stalker, they had 28" bbls and were built on the M 10 action like this one.

G&H mounts go way back to 1932...
It cost less than a new 700, of course I'm gonna.
Of course if that distresses you so much, I'll sell it to you for 2 grand.
If I can't see, I can't shoot.
I won't own a rifle I can't shoot.
Been down the road with two 1910 280s both had black hole bores.
Now finally a nice 1905 with an excellent bore, at a reasonably prices as well.
Now the fun part, no rear receiver ring make a...
Thanks guys.
Cannot believe I got this for <$200 TMD!
If bore is fried, I'll part it out, Unertl bases are worth 1/2 the price.
If I wanted a big bore I'd send it to JES and get a 35 or 400...
Acquired this 270-4000 (30 Newton necked to .277).
Only proof on Remington action is flaming bomb.
30 Newton had rim diameter close to 303.
Note safe removed.

what is a 6.5 Lapua ?
Easy to make a 6.5x55 SWISS (7.5 necked down). CUT OFF OLD BBL TO MAKE A STUB. FIT 6.5 BARREL TO it. Get a reamer made in 6.5x55 SWISS. Chamber it. Use 6.5 Rem Mag dies to neck down 7.5x55 cases to...
I just bought 100 7.5x55 cases from Grafs. No reason to make them from anything !
The Swiss Products scope mount makes shooting much easier for my 79.5 year old eyes.
K 11 should be reloaded with RCBS dies or the Hornady dies designed for it.
K 31 should be reloaded with Redding dies or the Hornady dies designed for it
It's that simple.
The easy way is to cut off the 7.5 bbl and thread the stub for a new bbl. Has been done a lot in Switzerland where there are all sorts of cartridges on K-31s. I know some one is USA does it but name...
done with it off to auction
I have no idea what they DID but I know what they DID NOT do.
1. After drilling they never scoped the hole.
2. They rifled it over the old pitting.
3. They lapped it with (looking at the...
In retrospect, .287 to .308 was probably was not a good idea. BUT like a fool I thought an ethical firm would have done the "drill out" and scoped the hole. When severe pitting was still evident an...
And here's the final word:
Just a heads up should any of you contemplate having a barrel rebored/rerifled.
I spent $350 with OregonGunsmithing to have my 280 Ross rifle rebored to .308 (the 280...
Bentleys come with mag wheel now.
Putting some old dim, crappy scope on a rifle just to be PC is silly.
Besides that Leupold is 40 odd years old.
Had another go with 4350 and 4064 and 4 different bullets. The 4064/ Barnes 168 TSX did the best (upper right)

Then I cleaned it...
Uh, no, the real problem is people who dns about K-31s but just HAVE TO run their pie holes.
Tried 54 gr 4350 and some 180 gr Hornady blems @100.
Pinweight bbl really heats up !
8 shots, best 4 were 1st 4.

Workable cases can be made from 300 WinMag but case head is unsupported in front of belt and cases too short.
A better case can be made for 375 Ruger brass, but a lot of work compared to $2.89...
Uh, no.
Two answers that don't address the issue.
K-31s eject almost straight up. As do 1889 and 96-11s. I have no problem with any of them that have no scope mounts. This rifle extracts & ejects...
